Erasmus+ international student mobility. The story of Luca Sabena.

Meet Luca Sabena, a EUAS international alumnus! Luca graduated from the Creativity and Business Innovation Joint Programme. Originally from Italy, he now lives in Estonia and works as a Payment Operation Specialist for an international company WISE. Luca´s goal has always been to work in an international environment and interact with different nationalities. Our joint Bachelor’s program Creativity and Business Innovation allows students to study for a semester on the same program at EUAS’s partner universities:

  • Vilnius University of Applied Sciences in Vilnius, Lithuania;
  • Polytechnic Institute of Porto in Porto, Portugal.

Luca chose to join the program because as a unique experience, he would get to study at three different universities and get an experience in three different countries. He had the chance to interact with a variety of local and international student organizations throughout his exchange study. The methods and learning procedure at the Lithuanian university were more similar to those at EUAS, although in Porto, the assignment portion was mostly delivered through written exams. Due to three diverse curricula with various subject combinations, the experience varied between countries but was nonetheless helpful. The student life in Porto was more vibrant, and Luca had the opportunity to take part in a week-long arranged tour throughout Portugal. He participated in exciting events, conferences, and other activities as well.

When asked, Luca shared that he strongly believes that Erasmus+ is extremely important since it offers a variety of experiences and makes it simpler to adapt to diverse cultures. “Erasmus+ is an excellent opportunity to meet people for networking and have a diverse cultural background. Plan for future work and travel!”
