Hello everyone! I am Julien, a 22-year-old French student studying engineering. I came to Estonia to complete my 3 months internship at the Estonian Entrepreneurship University of Applied Sciences (EUAS). I am a very curious person, who also loves to travel, and so I decided to write this blog, where I can share with you my story. During my 3 months here, I hope to visit all of Tallinn, meet a lot of international students, attend many events, and also hope to visit other cities in Estonia.
I arrived in Tallinn on the 28 July at around 1 am, which is around midnight in France. The staff in the Airport spoke fluent English. There was also a shop where a wide range of products are available, you can literally find everything that you want, especially food, drinks, travel accessories, and gift items. I bought a souvenir from Estonia right away. I was met by a member of the university, who took me to the university hostel. Fortunately, the hostel is very close to the airport, only 7 minutes by foot, and that was a relief as I had with me my laptop, a 20 kg suitcase, and a backpack with all my clothes and other belongings for the entire trip. The hostel is very well located. It is right on campus and just next to the university building. We can walk from the hostel to the university without even stepping foot outside, there is a bridge that connects the buildings! Furthermore, the university is located in a Ülemiste smart city. There is everything that you need: an enormous shopping mall with more than 200 shops, cafés, and restaurants, a cinema hall, a self-service gym, and more. I am sharing some pictures of the Ülemiste Smart City. In comparison to French shops, there are 3 names I recommend – Selver for LeClerc, Prisma for Carrefour, and the one that I most recommend because of the good prices would be Maxima, in comparison with Lidl.

Bonjour à tous, je m’appelle Julien, je suis un étudiant français de 22 ans en école d’ingénieur. Je suis parti en Estonie à Tallinn pour réaliser un stage de 3 mois dans l’université Entrepreneurship University of Applied Sciences (EUAS) dans le cadre de mes études. Je suis quelqu’un de très curieux qui adore voyager, c’est pourquoi je rédige ce blog. Je vous ferai part de mon histoire, de mes impressions et mes suggestions concernant cette ville et cette université en tant qu’étudiant étranger. Durant ces 3 mois de stage j’espère visiter tout Tallinn, rencontrer beaucoup d’étudiants internationnaux lors de nombreux évènements ainsi que visiter d’autres villes en Estonie.
Quand Je suis arrivée à Tallinn le 28 juillet de cette année, dans la nuit aux alentours d’une heure du matin (minuit heure française). Je suis atterri dans un petit aéroport, mais tout est super bien indiqué et le personnel parle couramment anglais. Il y a d’ailleurs un magasin où l’on peut trouver tout ce que l’on veut comme à manger ou à boire par exemple. J’y ai d’ailleurs acheté un souvenir de l’Estonie. Un membre de l’établissement universitaire « Denis » est venue me chercher pour m’amener à l’hôtel universitaire. Heureusement que l’hôtel est tout près de l’aéroport, en 7 minutes à pied nous étions arrivés, car j’avais amené avec moi en Estonie mon ordinateur, une valise de 20 kilos pour toutes mes affaires et un sac à dos pour la visite.
Le campus est super bien placé, et surtout juste à côté de l’université. On peut même aller de l’hôtel à l’école par un pont sans sortir dehors ! De plus nous sommes dans une sorte de ville innovante car il y a tout ce qu’il nous faut dans cette zone appelée « Ulemiste Smart City ». On y trouve des restaurants, une cantine, une salle de sport, plus de 200 magasins de shopping, des supermarchés, un cinéma et un gros centre commercial, quelques hôtels et surtout beaucoup de start-up. Je vous partage quelques photos « Ulmiste Smart City » : Par rapport aux magasins français, il y a 3 noms que je recommande – Selver pour LeClerc, Prisma pour Carrefour, et celui que je recommande le plus en raison des prix intéressants serait Maxima, par rapport à Lidl.
